About the Company 

The client is a fast-growing, early-stage technology firm focused on developing intelligent risk assessment platforms and automated trust verification mechanisms for highly regulated enterprise sectors. Having already secured significant multi-year commercial agreements and generated substantial early revenue, they are expanding their core technical capabilities.

The company operates out of London with strong financial stability from leading early-stage venture investors. They are looking to strengthen their technical core by bringing on board a high-agency Founding Engineer to lead their automated agent platform development. 

The Role in a Nutshell

We are seeking an autonomous, backend-focused software developer who combines architectural rigor with a strong ownership mindset to take full responsibility for our client's core agent capabilities. In this role, you will bridge the gap between foundation model calls and dependable, production-grade features by architecting resilient orchestration frameworks, rigorous evaluation pipelines, and robust execution infrastructure. You will work directly on mission-critical features, acting as a primary technical builder within a high-velocity environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Autonomous Agent Orchestration: Architect, construct, and refine complex multi-step AI workflows, leveraging frontier models, function execution libraries, and robust fallback mechanisms.

• System Reliability & Evals: Establish rigorous validation methodology, automated benchmarking frameworks, and LLM-as-judge protocols to maintain consistency across high-stakes enterprise outputs.

• Platform & Core Backend Engineering: Build resilient backend services in TypeScript and Node.js capable of running mission-critical operations with high uptime and low latency.

• Cloud Infrastructure & AI Tooling: Streamline application deployment on cloud environments (Azure) while incorporating modern AI-assisted engineering practices and development workflows.

• Product Ownership & Technical Execution: Drive features independently from initial concept through edge-case resolution to live deployment, aligning technical decisions directly with user requirements.

 Experience

• Professional Background: 6-7+ years of hands-on software development experience (or exceptional early-career background with proven AI execution track record) with at least 1-2 years dedicated to deploying LLM-powered features in live production environments.

• Primary Tech Stack: Deep technical proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript, accompanied by proven experience in building stateful microservices and agent execution layers.

• Production AI & Security Focus: Practical expertise in fine-tuning prompts, implementing prompt-injection safeguards, managing embeddings, and building customized benchmarking setups for non-deterministic software.

• Engineering Mindset: A strong builder persona with prior exposure to high-growth product companies, startup environments, or complex regulated domains (such as cybersecurity, GRC, or fintech).

• On-Site Presence: Capability and willingness to work fully on-site alongside the core team at their London offices.

Compensation

• Collaboration Structure: Permanent employment contract

• Financial Package: Estimated £130,000 - £170,000 / year (commensurate with senior engineering capabilities and domain depth)
